Photo of Gordon R. McCormack Gordon McCormack has been the President and Chief Executive Officer since 2004 and originally joined Hyduke in 2002 as Chief Financial Officer. Gord was elected to the Board of Directors of Hyduke in September 2005. Prior to joining Hyduke, Gord spent 12 years with Ernst & Young LLP providing assurance and advisory services to a wide variety of industries but with a particular focus on the oil and gas services sector. Prior to his time at Ernst & Young, Gord worked in the trucking, forestry and retail grocery industries.

Gord has been a director of the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) since November 2008 and is PSAC’s representative on the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers Environmental, Health & Safety Executive Policy Group.

Gord was a director and member of the audit committee of McCoy Corporation from May 2008 to December 2010. McCoy is an Alberta based public company trading on the TSX exchange and operates internationally in the oil and gas services sector, the trailer manufacturing sector and the truck and trailer products and services sector.

Gord has been involved in a variety of private businesses as shareholder, advisory board member and board member for the past 26 years.

Mr. McCormack holds a Chartered Accountant designation and has a Bachelor of Commerce undergraduate degree from the University of Alberta.

Photo of Erv Lack Mr.Lack holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, M.B.A. and is a P.Eng. He held engineering positions with Esso Chemical (Canada) Ltd., Chemplex Company in the U.S. and Canadian Industries Ltd. in research and development of polyethylene. He joined the Alberta Government Department of Economic Development and Trade and held various positions in international trade, investment and tourism. He returned to the private sector in 1996 and is currently President & CEO of Canada Overseas Trade (2000) Corporation. Mr. Lack is a director of one other public company, Hyduke Energy Services Inc., as well as seven private sector companies.

Photo of John Pinsent In 2004, John became a founding partner with St. Arnaud Pinsent Steman Chartered Accountants following a distinguished ten-year career in the Assurance practice of Ernst and Young LLP. John currently serves as a director on a number of public, private and not for profit boards including the audit committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and the ICAA Education Foundation, Special Olympics Alberta (Chairman), Liberty Mines Inc. (TSX), Hyduke Energy Services (TSX) Synodon Inc.(TSX.V) Innovotech Inc.(TSX.V), Picomole Instruments Inc., Optimum Communications Services, Inc. and Fastrainer LLP.

He has also played an active role in the creation of various financing forum initiatives across Alberta including the Banff Venture Forum, Alberta’s Innovation and Investment Week, various BioFinance and Agrifinance events and currently serves as a Director of the Alberta Venture Channel and is a member of AVAC Ltd.

Vice President - Operations
Photo of David Beatty David has been in the industry for over twenty-five years and got his start helping a friend complete the rebuild of a Skytop Service rig. Since then he's come a long way and has been Hyduke's Vice President – Operations since October, 2007. David originally joined Hyduke as an inside sales representative with B.W. Rig Repair & Supply in July 2002 and was soon promoted to manager of the Red Deer supply store. Prior to joining Hyduke, David held many positions in the oil & gas industry, including purchasing & safety manager with Roll'n Well Servicing, assistant manager at DOSCO supply, store manager at National Oilwell finally purchasing manager with Precision Well Servicing. Prior to the oil industry David was involved with the mining and trucking industry as a heavy duty mechanic, driver and eventually owner operator.

Vice President of Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
Photo of Marcel Claveau Marcel hails from the Peace River Country in Northern Alberta. He was parented with the Credo that nothing but your best effort is acceptable and to strive for 100%. His farm upbringing coupled with his welding background have given him a common sense approach to problem solving.

Marcel has spent 38 years involved in the manufacturing of Oilfield Equipment. He has welded in shops and field and started, managed and owned several manufacturing companies, the latest as the owner of Alta North Welding Ltd for 17 years. The last year has been spent designing a Drilling Rig Manufacturing facility in Russia.

During his career Marcel has gained extensive knowledge in manufacturing techniques, business management and financing, team building and Lean Manufacturing principles. I look forward to working with the Hyduke Energy Services Team on our journey to becoming a Global Oilfield Equipment Manufacturer of Choice.

On a personal side Marcel is married and spends as much time as possible with family, especially his twin granddaughters. Hobbies and passions include sailing, skiing, scuba diving and wine.

T & T Inspections & Engineering Manager
Photo of Gary Smordin Gary graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation he spent over eight years with Schlumberger performing well logging, measurement while drilling and well servicing at home and abroad, on and offshore. Gary was also employed ten years with Bettis Canada designing pressure vessels, welding procedures and engineered valve actuators for natural gas transmission lines and one year with Alberta Boiler Safety Association auditing pressure equipment designs prior to coming to Hyduke. For the last nine years he has been employed by Hyduke inspecting and certifying drilling rigs, service rigs, rig overhead and handling equipment as well as performing crane certifications, NACE certifications and fuel tank inspection. Gary is also registered as a Transport Canada Design Engineer.

General Manager - Hyduke Energy Services US Inc.
Photo of Alfred Moore Alf started in the oilfield in 1987 as a wireline hand for a company out of Red Deer. Since that time he has had jobs in the oilfield from Underbalanced Drilling, Machinist, Pipeline X-ray and testing. Alf ran a testing company out of Red Deer for 4 years before starting with B.W. Supply in Red Deer in 2004 on the order desk and after a brief time away from Hyduke, he took the position he has today.

Reliable Airflow Co-Manager
Photo of Doug Stahler Doug was literally born in the oilpatch – on a wellsite while his father was Toolpush for S & T Drilling. Originally hired in 1974 by Albert Young (owner and founder of Reliable Airflow) as a repairman he has been solving air problems and designing systems ever since. In his spare time, he achieved an Honors Diploma in Accounting from NAIT in 1991. He then spent 5 years exploring the intricacies of the Canadian tax system with H & R Block, three of those as the Assistant District Manager for North Edmonton and Northern Alberta, before returning to work with Albert Young at Reliable Airflow in 1995.

Reliable Airflow Co-Manager
Photo of Roger Bauer Roger started with Albert Young in 1977 as a valve & compressor repairman. In January 1984 Roger joined Reliable Airflow where he repaired and sold air products including building air panel and compressor tank units for the drilling and well servicing industry. When Reliable's founder, Albert, retired Roger became Co-manager of the Reliable Airflow division of Hyduke.

Big Rig Sandblasting, Paint & Repair Manager
Photo of Bob Belseth Bob's career started in the early 1960's as a partner of Caproco Corrosion Prevention. Bob has had many successful business ventures since the start including Polar Paint, Canada Car Colors, Fredrick Paint and Southwood Collision Repair. In 1997 Bob took the job as Body shop General Manager of Derrick Dodge. In 1999 Bob and his partner started Alberta Collision which was sold to Big Rig Collision a few years later. When Hyduke purchased the Leduc based Big Rig Collision, Bob was a natural asset to continue running the company!

Hyduke Machining Solutions Manager
Photo of Ernie Kuti Ernie's career started in June 1978 manufacturing de-icer's, compressors and boilers for Air Canada and was soon promoted to foreman in 1980. In 1986, Ernie progressed to machining aerospace products and Allan Bradley Defense parts. Eventually, Ernie became plant manager before moving to Alberta in 1996 to take up a sales manager position with a machining tools manufacturer. In this position, Ernie provided CNC equipment, training and installation for the western Canadian provinces. In December 2004, Ernie became Division Manager of Hyduke Machining Solutions Inc.

Divisional Supply Manager - Nisku
Photo of Rob Harsch Rob started in the oilfield over 25 years ago, with 17 of those years being with B.W. Rig Supply. He held various positions over the years at B.W. Rig Supply including Shipping and Receiving, Manufacturing Purchaser and Order Desk. Rob was promoted into the Divisional Supply Manager position in 1999.

Lloydminster B.W. Rig Supply Manager
Photo of Cory Bourassa Cory has been living in Lloydminster since 1981 and worked in the oilpatch for 19 of those years. He started in the bottom hole pump business before moving into the Sales Manager position at CE/Franklin. Cory started with B.W. Supply as Store Manager in 1999.

Red Deer B.W.Rig Supply Manager
Photo of Dave Windrim Dave’s first job in the oilfield supply business was with Charrapel Oilfield Services Brooks in 1977. Since then, Dave has held a wide variety of positions with such companies as Oilwell Taber, Franklin Supply, Jo-Ann Trucking, National-Oilwell and Crimtech Services. In 2003 Dave came to work for B.W. Rig Supply and in August 2008 he took over as store manager.

Canwest Crane Manager
Photo of Ed Paillard Ed Paillard comes to Hyduke with 23 years of truck mounted equipment experience. His background includes extensive experience with the hydraulic and electrical systems. Ed started with Canwest Crane in 1999 and advanced over the next four years until he became divisional manager in 2003. He holds tickets in both heavy duty and automotive technology.

Information Systems Manager
Photo of Joshua Shire A long time hobbyist, Joshua Shire started his professional career in information technology working in the trenches as a technician for a local computer reseller. He then gained valuable enterprise experience working first in desktop support and then systems administration at Quebecor World before taking over the MIS Department for Western Canada. Joshua possesses certifications from Microsoft, the Linux Professional Institute and the Computing Technology Industry Association. He also did a stint at the University of Alberta in History.

Photo of Sandy Cassidy Sandy Cassidy started in Project Management and Rig-up Supervision with Hyduke Drilling Solutions in 2004. He transitioned to Technical Adviser and Project Support with Hyduke Energy Services in 2007. His experience has been in the oil and gas industry for most of his career with a strong emphasis on building, rigging up and supporting drilling rig equipment.

Corporate Project Procurement Manager
Photo of Don Eluik Don's current position, coordinating projects involving our many divisions, is a continuation of his career spanning many years and many organizations. Initially Don spent seventeen years with a shallow gas & oilfield rig manufacturer after graduating from the University of British Columbia in 1975. This opened the door for additional opportunities and expansion of roles with other oilfield supply companies and turn-key equipment manufacturers located in the oilfield of central Alberta, Canada. Over the past decade, Don has spent time at home and abroad working on both oilfield and civil projects involving everything from drilling rigs to refineries.
